What is Urban Wood?
Urban wood is lumber produced from local trees that have been removed due to various circumstances like weather, disease or construction. Once reclaimed, each piece has natural characteristics that make it extraordinary, unique, and perfect for custom woodworking.
About Jon
"I needed to stay occupied in a healthy and meaningful way," Jon says when asked about why he started working with wood. His love for the craft — which began in his early years growing up in Wisconsin — reemerged in his life as a necessary way of decompressing from his years as a firefighter for the Janesville Fire Department. Woodworking became a way to establish another mindset and gave him something positive to focus his thoughts on instead of replaying the stressful events a day of firefighting brings.
