Site Wood and Specially Sourced Timber
Jon can turn most any fallen tree from your property into lumber that you can take away for your own use. He can also take that lumber and make a custom piece of handcrafted furniture for you. Site wood includes trees that need to be taken down for construction, disease, storm damage, etc. Even though it is a more time-consuming and expensive process, many customers choose this route. Jon has the tools to mill these trees into lumber and prepare them for floors, furniture, or other custom wood projects.

Consultation & Design
The journey to a custom design allows you to be intimately involved in the creation. By beginning with your vision's basic concept, its appearance can be realized in the initial sketch with approximate dimensions. Jon collaborates with you to help determine not only the look but the practical use too. He'll work with you to decide how it should be constructed to meet your requirements.
Wood Choice
You'll want to consider the kinds of wood you have in mind for your new custom piece. If you’re starting with no clear idea of what type of wood you are looking for, Jon will start by showing you the selection of woods he has onsite to see if anything catches your eye (see wood selection gallery for an idea of what is usually in stock). Jon can prepare and work with specially sourced or site timber too.
Estimate & Details
Once Jon has guided you to a truly unique wood selection, he'll finalize all aspects of your new custom wood product. He must consider how the piece will be used to confirm the dimensions accurately. Then, he can decide on the appropriate moldings, hardware, and other details. At that point, you'll be provided with an accurate quote and an approximate delivery date.
Construction
Utilizing top-of-the-line tools and equipment, Jon ensures a fabulous result. Where possible, Jon recommends visiting his workshop during the process but is happy to send you photos of your project's progress too. Seeing a custom-made wood product come together, and experiencing the artistry that goes into its creation, is part of the joy and an experience that is a unique part of the process.
Delivery
Once the quality checking is complete, your custom creation is ready for delivery and, if relevant, installed. Your piece will be transported carefully, ensuring it travels safely and arrives without any damage. Jon then takes the time to clearly explain the care instructions so that it looks its best long after he's gone.
